Perhaps you are unsure of whether or not animal prints are still hot on the fashion scene. Maybe you look great and gorgeous in animal prints, but you are just not sure if the fashion scene will still accept this trend. The great news is that this summer animal prints are hotter than ever. There is no need to hide your animal prints in the back of your closet, because they are making a great comeback this Winter.

Animal prints look stunning as fashion accessories. They can add a bit of wild edginess to any outfit that needs a little more spice. One of my favorite animal print fashion items is the animal print handbag.

Animal print handbags are classy and can make any outfit more interesting. In fact, men even love looking at women with some sort of animal theme incorporated into an outfit, simply because that outfit becomes instantly chic and sexy with an animal print.

For a great summer look, try pairing a simple white or black dress with an animal print handbag. A zebra print handbag can look sharp when paired with an all-white ensemble. Even white jeans and a white blouse can look stunning with a zebra bag.

The giraffe print handbag is also a gorgeous addition to summer outfits. Try pairing a nice pair of khaki shorts with a dark brown blouse tied at the side with a giraffe print handbag. This outfit can make you a summer sensation in the city or town where you live.

The key to creating a hot summer outfit with animal print items is by keeping the outfit itself simple. Pair basic colors with each other, rather than going overboard in trying to match an animal print shirt with an animal print handbag. Basic solid colors will focus attention on the most eye-catching pieces of your outfit, which are the animal print handbags or scarves.

An animal print scarf can add a mysterious appeal to any outfit too. These gorgeous scarves can make any outfit look more chic and even professional. If you work in an office and want to add a bit of spice to an outfit, then try pairing a leopard print scarf with an all black ensemble. Zebra print scarves also look gorgeous when paired with solid blacks or whites. One great outfit for the office is wearing a white blazer and pants with a black tank underneath. Then, tie a zebra scar loosely around your neck and you have a gorgeous outfit!

Animal print scarves have always made outfits look more upscale and expensive. For the woman with expensive taste, animal print scarves can add a classy look to an outfit that also does not break the bank. In this economy, instead of buying an entirely new wardrobe, why not buy a few staple accessory pieces? Accessories like an animal print scarf or handbag can make an outfit look entirely different and refreshed than it once was.

Animal print scarves are a hot ticket item this upcoming summer. Animal print scarves add an elegance with a touch of spice that is difficult to achieve in any outfit. However, animal print scarves make achieving elegance and spice an easy task.

First, animal print scarves are usually very affordable. This can make them an instantly attractive fashion accessory! While they look expensive, they can be discovered for all sorts of prices online. In this economy, women are looking for new ways to cut costs on their wardrobes. However, cutting costs does not mean a woman has to also sacrifice style. Instead of purchasing a new wardrobe this summer, a woman can simply try updating her wardrobe. Make your wardrobe look fresh with animal print scarves.

There are many looks that can be worn with animal print scarves. Do you own a pair of white shorts or white capris? If so, then all you have to do is pair a cute black tank top or white tank top with a pair of white shorts or white capris. Then, add on a zebra print animal scarf and your outfit looks instantly updated!

There are also many ways to wear an animal print scarf, which makes it a versatile fashion accessory. Younger women may find that wearing an animal print scarf as a sort of cuff bracelet can add a funky vibe to any outfit. Wearing animal print scarves as bracelets is an attractive way to draw attention to the lower part of one’s body rather than the chest area.

Another uncommon idea is wearing an animal print scarf as a headband or hair tie.. Headbands are also hotter than ever, so why not pair the two trends together? There are many animal prints that look great as headbands. Some of my favorites are wearing a cheetah or giraffe animal print scarf as a headband.

Many women are also starting to tie animal print scarves on a basic purse for an updated look. Do you have a black leather purse that you simply can not bear to throw away? Maybe the purse is a bit old-looking and needs an update. Try tying a zebra print scarf on the handle of the purse for a stunning look. Giraffe scarves can also look great on brown boho bags. Boho bags look amazing when detailed with an animal print scarf.

Of course, the most traditional way to wear an animal print scarf is around the neck. This look is simply classic and will have men going crazy for you. There is something about scarves that just adds a bit of sex appeal to any outfit. I also think animal print scarves are reminiscent of “Old Hollywood” and movie stars like Marilyn Monroe and Greta Gable. Try tying a blouse at the side and wearing an animal print scarf. This is one of the best looks for this upcoming summer!

If you need an affordable fashion update, then animal print scarves are the way to go. They are an attractive, stunning, and chic addition to any outfit!

Incorporating animal prints into your wardrobe can be challenging. Too much, and you look like a Jersey Shore cast off, not enough and, well, why even bother. Often, a scarf can be just the right touch.

For me, the ultimate way to wear a leopard print scarf is a la Grace Kelly in a convertible. Fold the scarf in half diagonally and put it over your head. Cross the ends under your chin and tie loosely in back. Add big dark sunglasses and the French Riveria (OK the French Riveria is optional, but if you can get there the scarf is mandatory). The look is classic and timeless and covers a multitude of bad hair sins.

Classic leopard print scarf is a fairly neutral pattern, tan and black go with just about anything, and in scarf form, can be tucked, twisted or tied just about anywhere. Tie a small scarf around a pony tail, fifties style, or around the handle of your handbag. A medium sized scarf can be tied into an ascot or necklace and is especially striking against a simple black tee.
The trick to using any animal print is to keep the rest of your ensemble fairly simple and try not to dress too much in a theme. Adding too much animal print to a full safari outfit just makes you look like you are wearing a costume. You want to be chic, not silly.

You can also find leopard print items in many fun colors, not naturally found on leopards. These are great for a fun pop of color as they are definitely not neutral. You can tie a scarf in about any way you can think of. It you are really confident, you can even tie a large scarf into a halter or bandeau top. Leopard in any color would look fantastic with black or white pants. Use a long scarf as a belt for a more subtle touch.

They say the ultimate authority on how to wear a scarf is a French woman. They can pretty much make a dishrag look like Hermes. So how about you? How would you wear a leopard scarf?

The History of Animal Print Scarves

by admin on July 1, 2010

in History

They’re everywhere. The patterns of leopards, zebras, tigers, and giraffes have enjoyed decades of popularity and become a long time glamour staple in many a wardrobe. So how did these stripes and spots make it from the Savanna to your scarf?

Before women discovered even real leopard or zebra, let alone their prints, we had scarves. The decorative scarves you see in every other boutique window actually came into style thousands of years ago: the ancient Egyptian queen Nefertiti is credited with bringing them into popularity, although they have most likely been worn for even longer.

The animal print patterns mimic furs brought to Europe from Africa that were used as clothing and home decor. They were occasionally used in garments, but full animal skins were most often made into rugs that blatantly showcased formerly ferocious trophy catches that once ruled faraway lands. More importantly, imported and exotic African furs were seen as a status symbol that was affordable only to royal families and the richest and most powerful members of society.

The end of the 1960s saw the rise of hippies as well as a new place for exotic animal pelt patterns, which were emulated on printed patterns for popular women’s apparel. In the next several decades, animal print managed to transcend the hippie subculture and it infiltrated mainstream society, spreading to mass produced fashion pieces, upholstery and even painted on objects not made of fabric. It was retooled in a variety of colors and media.

The pashmina became a must have commodity during the late 1980s. Animal prints, while never having actually gone out of style, enjoyed a reemergence in explosive popularity, and by the 1990s the pashmina and animal print converged and resulted in all shapes, sizes and sorts of the ever popular animal print scarf.

The reasons that animal print is still in style (and will probably never go out) are many. They add an air of wildness and run to the exotic: leopards’ spots are believed to have evolved to help them blend in with wild orchid patches, while the stripes of tigers and zebras are thought to emulate the cascading lines of tall Savanna grasses. In their natural colors, animal prints are all neutrals and can be mixed beautifully with any color. However, the main one is that they are undeniably likeable. Animal print is timeless and often, even the shiest of girls is tempted to let out her inner wild cat. And one of the most subtle ways to introduce animal print is with a cute scarf.
